Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2002 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. This morning I woke early, as I do on the first day of school and other life-changing occasions that I anticipate with excitement.
I found myself surprised this morning because I was not worrying about whether I would pass the test. "Oh, that must be what confidence feels like," I said to myself.
In a little bit I go downstairs to clean up the inside of the car and do whatever other errands my mother prescribes me. After that she'll probably make me eat, and then we'll go practice one last time in the vicinity of the DMV. I hope that the next time I write here I'll be a California-certified driver. Or not have taken the test yet. You know what I'm saying?
