The Audition: Yesterday I auditioned for the Apollo Theater…
Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2002 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. The Audition: Yesterday I auditioned for the Apollo Theater Amateur Night. Most of the other contestants were music and/or dance groups, I think. I am quite glad that I did not go over my time, that I got several laughs, and that I did not make any major mistakes. Thanks to Leonard, Nandini, Joe, Michael, and Devin for advice and material and for listening.
Other: Today's Doonesbury makes real my speculations from a few days ago. And I find myself wanting to read the mystery series The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
