Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2002 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. I dreamt an extraordinary dream last night. I met Attorney General John Ashcroft and he interviewed me to find out what a typical student's life is like. (At one point I asked him what he'd like me to call him, and he said, "Attorney General.") We had quite a nice conversation, and I thought we were bonding, but then I realized that he and his accomplice were just using the interview to get inside our house and steal our stuff. I had one of them in a headlock and was hitting the other one to keep him at bay while my flatmates tried to get back inside.

Then I think his accomplice turned into a rat and I had to kill her. A green plastic rat.
