Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2002 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. For some reason it's more satisfying to meet someone who dislikes the same widely-liked thing that I dislike than to meet someone who likes the same widely-disliked thing that I like. I found this out yesterday at the wedding, although I can't recall the context.
Leonard's birthday party was well-attended and featured yummy cake and other food, superbly prepared by Frances. A good time was had by all, except for Leonard. Well, he was glad and all, but he had to go lie down rather early.
Back to Northern California early tomorrow morning.
