Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2002 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. People who don't mind living in Washington (and travel all over the world) have a fantastic opportunity to get a free software job with the Science and Human Rights project at the AAAS -- working with Patrick Ball....Did I mention that incredibly great job opportunity over at AAAS? You should be breaking AAAS's doors down to apply for such a job (except don't, because they need their doors, in order to do things like protect human rights effectively).
