Ochen buistro -- very quick

Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2001 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. If this post is particularly offensive or breaches someone's privacy, please contact me.

I'm going to post more later today, but:

  • I'm glad that Steve, Seth, Leonard, my sister, and probably others got my postcards.
  • "You'd think that with armed traffic cops, they could make a dent in the problem." -- John on Nyevskii Prospekt (the main street in St. Petersburg)
  • When I hear "Trinity," I first think "nuclear test," not "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
  • "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free software."
  • I've finished reading the US Supreme Court decision on Good News Club v. Milford Central School and the concurrences and dissents. It seems as though the definition of evangelism is a crucial issue. What is evangelism? Is it a viewpoint or a topic? Or is it both in some special way? The opinions made me think about my own thoughts on the subject, which, of course, makes me think that I need to read more law, and turn into Seth, and/or possibly make my parents happy by going to law school (a very, very, long shot).

I think that if you find a typo in a Supreme Court decision, you should get a free writ of certiorari.

  • Tonight's Episode: My Other Car is a Corpse
  • Perhaps it's time for Analog Divergence. The new new new economy. Two wrongs don't make a right; three wrongs get you back on the highway, as the saying goes.
